A BABY SHOWER CRAFTERNOON.

A couple of weeks back, one of my very clever craft-y friends planned a little surprise "crafternoon" baby shower for our girlfriend who is due to give birth to her baby girl any day now! This is Jem's second baby, so we didn't do the usual baby shower games, but instead Cassie had planned for us to decorate onesies, little headbands and other pretty baby girl stuff. I have to say, I've never spent the afternoon crafting and sewing with the girls before, but it was a lot of fun, such a sweet idea and Cassie styled it all so beautiful and thought of everything (such a clever lady!).

This baby girl is going to be one well-dressed little lady-- I so can't wait to meet her! Hope you're all having a contented weekend x

A COUNTRYSIDE BIRTHDAY WEEKEND.

This last weekend was our Labour Day long weekend, so today feels like a Monday (when it's actually a Tuesday), which is always kinda nice. It's my birthday tomorrow, which was the perfect excuse to get out of town for a couple of days, and it was so worth it. We spent a couple of nights at this beautiful place and the minute we arrived, I felt so relaxed. It never ceases to amaze me how the quietness and the clear, peaceful air can make you feel like you've just taken the weight of the world off your shoulders.

The first morning we were there, I decided to get up and watch the sun rise and I'm so glad I did-- it was freezing cold, but to see the mist rolling in over the hills and the first rays of sun peeking in over the top was so wonderful. Can't wait to get back there again soon!
