SUMMER SKIN.
Ok, so maybe not quite summer skin yet, but spring IS only two sleeps away! It was such a beautiful warm day yesterday, and I was so excited last night that it was warm enough to wear summer pyjamas to bed: bare legs, bare shoulders, and no socks :) HAPPY.

RAINY SATURDAYS + A NEW BABY.
Saturday was one of those WET days, where the rain was so completely set in, you have to get your significant other to drive the car around so you don't walk through a small lake (SUCH a lovely boy). We spent the lazy afternoon-slash-night hanging out with friends and these super cute kiddos, who never fail to make me laugh. Ahhh, the stories we'll have for them when they're older! And even though he wasn't due for another two weeks, two of our friends welcomed their new little baby boy to the world very early the next morning-- in the back of an ambulance! Yep, someone wanted to make a very hurried, dramatic entrance. Thankfully, everyone is happy and healthy. Can't wait to cuddle him x

LUST FOR LOVE.
I am clearly a bit behind the times, but I absolutely love this photoshoot for Harper's Bazaar Indonesia (February 2011) by photographer, Nicoline Patricia Malina. Despite the obvious fact that I adore eastern-influenced clothing, there's something so sad yet beautiful about these photos and I can't look away. I also love the strong lines and bold colours in the photography. So very, very lovely x

SHAKE OFF THOSE RAINY DAY BLUES.
It's been raining cats and dogs round these parts today. I'm a 'sunshine, blue skies, summer' loving person through and through, but these lovely rainy day photos definitely make the day brighter.
Oh, and a little bit of Totoro never goes astray x

A MOODY DAY, THE MARKETS + SNICKERS CHEESECAKE.
Yesterday, the weather was definitely having mood swings-- picture perfect one minute; dark, grey and windy the next. But we decided to make the most of our Sunday and headed into Southbank (see my post from last time we went there here) for a browse around the Young Designers Markets. We also ended up having a yummy lunch at Ginga (the restaurant, not the sushi bar) and afterwards, hot chocolate and some snickers cheesecake at Denim. SO good (although back at home later, we may have collapsed in a food-induced coma).
Hope your Monday is kind (I have my fingers crossed that our new SLR camera arrives in the post today!!) x

PHOTOBOOTH FRIDAY: ROUND NINETEEN.
HAPPY FRIDAY. Even though we had a day off in the middle of this week, I couldn't be happier it's Friday already. I'm pooped! Have you got anything fun planned? We haven't got too much happening, but each weekend I'm getting more excited by the slowly-getting-warmer weather (yep, I'm r-e-a-l technical!), so hopefully we'll get to spend some time outdoors.
Incase you feel like doing a bit of reading, thought I would share some of my favourite blog posts from around the place this week:
• Lovely (and free!) printable tags
• This little video totally FREAKED me out-- but I couldn't stop watching it over and over
• The 2012 Frankie Calendar and Journal are now available to pre-order-- YAY. I decided on the Journal, can't wait for it to arrive :)
• The most breath-taking photos to brighten your day
• A yummy recipe to try-- think I'm going to give it a go tonight
• A whole set of instragram-inspired photoshop actions, for your non-iphone photo editing needs :)
• A cute and creative little love note
Hope your weekend is blissful x

A LOVELY MID-WEEK DAY.
Yesterday, was a public holiday here for us, and I have to say, I am a fan of these little mid-week days off. I forgot to switch my alarm off, so I was still awake at the usual time-- but lying in bed on a grey and rainy day, doing a little early morning blog reading, with some toast and a coffee was MUCH nicer than the usual rush to get ready for work :)
(These lovely photos can be found here).

COACHELLA: BROOKE FRASER
I only just got around to getting myself a copy of Brooke Fraser's latest album, Flags, over the weekend but already I am loving "Coachella". It's so upbeat and happy and it reminds me of warm summer nights.

LATELY.
I know it's been pretty quiet around here lately. There has been so much going on behind the scenes the last few weeks and I just haven't been on my A-game. There will be quite a few big changes for me in the next little while and all will be revealed. Just quietly, it is potentially a little exciting (mixed with equal parts scary).
Some happy things lately:
• I quickly snapped the two photos (above) in the afternoon, on my way home from work. It's usually already dark at that time of day, so I was super happy that there was still sunlight left. It means the days are getting longer, and that means one thing: SUMMER.
• We finally bought our own DSLR! Get ready for LOTS of photos while I learn how to use it properly (and please, feel free to offer your sage advice). EXCITE.
• A really fun night out for dinner with favourite friends.
• Good advice from my love, right when I needed it.
• I have two new books on the way to me in the post (thanks for the recommendations Gemma!). I have missed reading books lately.
Happy Monday-- hope your week is bright (we have a public holiday on Wednesday-- YAY!) x

A LOVELY POINT OF VIEW.
Ever since we went for a run along the river a couple of weeks ago, I have been more excited to be a tourist in my own town, and visit those places that you kinda just forget about when you live there. I have mentioned to Patrick a few times that I want to go for a drive up to the Brisbane lookout, just for the pretty view (and maybe a coffee and some banana bread at the cafe!). We haven't had a chance to go yet, but the other day we were driving past the smaller lookout near where we live and decided to drive up. I'm glad we did-- the view was a lovely breath of fresh air.
(Nearly Friday-- yay!) x
