A couple of times a week, Patrick has to start work ridiculously early, and because we always say 'goodbye' to each other, I'm awake ridiculously early as well. I usually manage to get back to sleep for a little while longer, but this morning I was lying there in bed and I could just see the first light peeking in around the edges of the window, so I decided to get up and watch the sun rise.
When you're not rushing to be at work on time, or grumpy because you'd much rather still be asleep, it's such a beautiful time of day. So peaceful and fresh.

ReplyDeleteI have a similar thing. My boyfriend leaves for work at around 5:45, and I'm usually unable to go back to sleep. After we say goodbye, I do my online work, then watch the sunrise from the living. Today (and it is rising just over the other buildings as I type), it is not as pretty as these images. And you're right...the morning is so peaceful and easy, not romantic and sensual like sunsets. I always enjoy the early morning light, especially when it streaks through the blinds, a vivid orange.

Such beautiful photos, the effect of the sun glowing through the clouds is especially gorgeous. I'm normally such a lazy bum and have seen the sunrise probably like once but these are really making me want to get up that much earlier for the perfect start to the day :)
