P-H-E-W! The last week has been SO completely full-on, hectic, busy, packed, and pretty much any other word to describe "crazy" you can think of. I feel like I have barely had time to think. I've moved house within the same city plenty of times before, but this time has definitely got me worn out and totally beat. However, SOMEHOW, we managed to get every last thing packed (or in most cases, squeezed into another tiny gap in our overpacked cars...) and outta the house. I'm so very grateful for friends that made the whole process that little bit easier by helping us out in different ways or giving us somewhere to sleep after we left our house.
But that meant the next bit - which was the looong drive back to the big smoke. I remember thinking it really wasn't so bad when we drove together up to the 'ville about a year ago -- but this time, we had one car each to drive, which meant two whole days straight in the driver's seat. Yep, I pretty much don't recommend it at all. I mean, I had to change my own CD's and open the water bottle myself for goodness sakes. I think I'm kinda just starting to feel normal again.
Here are some pictures from our moving ordeal, whoops, I mean, 'adventure':

Packing, packing, packing -
who'da thought so much stuff could fit in one house?
One last photo, after all the furniture was gone :(

Having a little nap in the park the day before we left,
cos we didn't have a home anymore!

Crossing the Burdekin - this was pretty much my view, for two long days.

Sleepyheads, at our hotel in Rockhampton.
Thank goodness for room service - we were WAY
too weary to venture out that night.
My super cute going away present from my friend, Ally...
mmm, warm, toasty toes, I love 'em.
Rocky - from our balcony.

Driving through the 'Lord of the Rings'-esque section of road
right near Gympie - so pretty (and so close to home!).
But that's that -- and we got here in one piece, hooray! Thank God for McDonald's coffee! It was pretty hard to contain my excitement when we drove that final little stretch from the sunshine coast. It's taken just a little bit of adjusting to the cold - I spent each morning of the first few days in a grump because I kinda can't remember how to dress for winter weather. I'm really, really going to miss that north queensland warmth. But it's been so very nice seeing my very bestest friends and our fam again and I can't wait to share new adventures x
