CRAZY.AMAZING.WONDERFUL.

It's Friday night - and it's a long weekend - two of my most favourite things, at once! Pattycake and I were having a "it's friday afternoon and we just finished work" snooze on the couch earlier, and it was so super, duper relaxing. It made me feel so grateful for a lot of things in my life right now - it's kinda nice.

Just wanted to share some pretty pictures I've found of amazing things that people have created in their homes. I love it - it kinda feels like when you played make-believe when you were a kid, and pretended you had all these wonderful things in your pretend home. Except somebody has actually gone and made it, for reals!

Happy weekend x

ANZAC

It's ANZAC day tomorrow - sometimes, it's easy to forget
it's real people, with real families, and real lives
(just look at this soldier's face).

BABY, BABY

It's been baby-town back home - no, seriously, pretty much every single one of my girlfriends has had a baby in the last year or so. It's so crazy (I kinda still don't feel like we're old enough to be married and having kiddos) but so exciting - their little faces break my heart and I can't wait to see them grow up together.

The latest addition is our first little girl, Ariella Jasmin - the produce of two of my best friends on earth. Right before she was born, Sharon asked me to design some baby announcement cards for her to send out and we were pretty much finalising them the day Ari decided to enter the world! So we ended up finishing them a couple of weeks later and finally sent them off to print - here they are, as well as a few happy snaps of their cute fam:

I WANT TO WORK THERE

I read this article over at smashing magazine (one of my fave online design-ery reads) this week and became green with envy at some of the totally uh-maz-ing studio and office spaces featured. Would be pretty darned awesome to work at a place like these huh? Here are some of my faves:

I think this one may just be my favourite of all -
I'd love to feel like I was outdoors all day
(would you have to wear sunscreen to work everyday?).
Would be pretty amazing in the rain.

My very own cabin in the sky? Uh yes please!

Learn how to skateboard on my lunch break? OH YEH.

HAPPY SNAPS & SUNSHINE

Some happy snaps from our Magnetic Island adventure
(yep, we made it over there - hurray!):

We got around on P-Money's motorbike, and no, it's not very nice for your hair-do and sure, I'm paying for it now with my biker's one-sided sunburn, but it was DEFINITELY the best way to see the place -- plus we did feel pretty cool overtaking everyone else burning around on their scooters and in their little barbie-doll topless cars. So much amazing scenery.. and even a couple of things we DIDN'T want to see, like the backpacker we nearly walked into, stopping to "go" (you know what I mean?) RIGHT next to the walking track! There's nothing like some sunshine, a little bit of hiking, some swimming at the beach and melting fruity ice blocks to feel like you're on a holiday... even if you're really not. Happy weekend!

EGG-CELLENT

(I made this here - I read about this on bleubird vintage awhile back
and I nearly died - my friend Sharon and I spent SO long searching
for a real life photobooth just like this one!)

It's Easter! I was more than a little bit excited yesterday afternoon as 5PM drew near - you know, that 'pre-holidays' feeling you get where nothing can ruin your happy mood. Although there's sometimes nothing I want more than to just chill out at home, I decided I didn't want to just while the days away, so this morning we got up (before 10am! I know you don't believe me, but it's true!), went for a walk around the markets, had a coffee, and hired out 'where the wild things are'.

But I'm super duper excited because tomorrow we're planning a trip over to Magnetic Island for the day. I LOVE little adventures like nuthin' else, so I can hardly wait for tomorrow to arrive! I'm a little bit (okay - alot) nervous about the weather - it's been pretty rainy here the last few days. But the first thing I did when I opened my eyes this morning was look outside the window with great anticipation..... and okay, it's overcast, but it's really warm and there's definitely sunshine peeking through.

Fingers crossed - hopefully I will have some adventure photos to share tomorrow.

Some of my fave things today:

can't stop listening to this song at the moment.
